The EU has rejected Russia's accusations regarding the involvement of the Baltic states and Finland in Ukrainian drone attacks. European Commission spokesperson Anita Gipper called the statements by Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu unfounded. She emphasized the lack of evidence and the risks of escalation.
The European Union has rejected Russia's accusations regarding the involvement of the Baltic states and Finland in organizing Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian territory. European Commission spokesperson Anita Gipper in Brussels called these statements unfounded.
According to Gipper, the statements by Russian officials, including Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu, about the alleged complicity of the Baltic states and Finland in organizing the flights of Ukrainian UAVs are part of a Russian information manual. She emphasized that there is no evidence to support these accusations.
The European Commission spokesperson emphasized that such statements create pretexts for escalation and undermine regional security. The Baltic states and Finland have already rejected these unfounded claims.
Earlier, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu stated that Finland and the Baltic states "are open accomplices in aggression against Russia," allegedly helping Ukrainian drones reach Russian territory through their airspace. Russian propaganda also spread claims that the Baltic states and Poland allowed Ukraine to use their airspace for strikes on Russian ports around St. Petersburg, and the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that they had "issued a warning" to the Baltic states. The Russian Ministry of Defense also published a list of alleged addresses in Europe where enterprises jointly producing UAVs with Ukraine are located, hinting at "retaliatory measures."
