Gardaí are investigating an alleged assault in Limerick yesterday that left a man with serious head and facial injuries. Authorities suspect the man was struck multiple times about the head with a wheel brace or an iron bar.

The alleged attack occurred at approximately 3pm yesterday at a house in the Southill area of Limerick City. While the motive for the alleged assault remains unclear, gardaí believe it is connected to a personal dispute between two men. Detectives are hoping to interview the injured man, who is currently receiving treatment at University Hospital Limerick.

A Garda spokeswoman stated, "Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene following a report of an alleged incident of assault at a residence in Southill, Limerick, that occurred at approximately 3pm, Thursday 16 March. A male (aged in his 20s) was conveyed to hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life-threatening at this time."
