Government Emergency Plan Booklet Delayed Amid Iran War Concerns
A year after the Government promised an emergency plan booklet to every household following Storm Éowyn, its distribution remains delayed. John McKeown of Waterford questions the delay, citing the Iran war's impact on fuel and motorways as an urgent concern, and asks when the booklet will be issued.
Last January, on the first anniversary of Storm Éowyn, the Government announced that every household would receive a copy of its emergency plan, complete with advice for individuals, in the coming weeks.
However, these «coming weeks» have extended into several months. John McKeown from Waterford questions whether the ongoing impact of the Iran war, which has resulted in limited fuel supplies and numerous blocked motorways in Ireland, is not considered a sufficient emergency.
McKeown further inquires about the specific types of emergencies the Government anticipates and when households can expect to receive this long-promised emergency booklet.
