Sybiha Urges Immediate Implementation of Unblocked EU Decisions After Russian Night Attack
Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha called for the immediate implementation of unblocked EU decisions following Russia's night attack. He noted that Russia launched at least 650 drones and missiles, resulting in four deaths and over thirty injuries. Sybiha stressed that any delay serves Moscow's interests, and the response must be maximum pressure and increased support for Ukraine.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha, following Russia's massive night attack on Ukraine, emphasized the urgent and full implementation of key European Union decisions that were recently unblocked. This statement by the minister was published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday, as reported by «European Pravda».
Sybiha noted that Russia launched at least 650 drones and missiles that night, deliberately targeting civilians. As a result of this attack across Ukraine, at least four people died, and over thirty were injured. The minister stressed that the Russian leadership must be held fully accountable for these war crimes.
«Key EU decisions have already been unblocked, and they must be implemented immediately and in full. Any delay only serves Moscow's interests. The only adequate response to Russian terror is maximum pressure, strengthened sanctions, and expanded support for Ukraine to stop this aggression and restore security in Europe,» stated the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
It is worth recalling that on April 23, the EU Council adopted, via a written procedure, amendments to the long-term EU budget for 2021-2027, which will allow for the provision of 90 billion euros in aid to Ukraine in 2026-2027, as well as the 20th package of EU sanctions against Russia. The first tranche from the «military» part of the 90 billion euro EU aid is expected to be 6 billion euros and will reach Ukraine no later than June. To receive part of the budget support from the 90 billion euro loan from the EU, Ukraine must implement a series of reforms related to the rule of law and anti-corruption.
