Hoover Issues Urgent Fire Safety Alert for Heat Pump Tumble Dryers (2019-2024)
Hoover has issued an urgent safety alert for certain built-in heat pump tumble dryers from 2019-2024 (Hoover, Candy, Haier brands) due to a fire risk. Customers must stop using affected models immediately and arrange a free in-home modification. Check appliances via productsafety.haier.ie using the 16-digit serial number.
Hoover is urging customers to immediately verify if their built-in heat pump tumble dryer is affected by an ongoing safety campaign. Certain models manufactured between 2019 and 2024 under the Hoover, Candy, and Haier brands may require a free, in-home modification due to a potential fire safety risk.
Customers possessing affected models must cease using the appliance immediately until a complimentary in-home modification has been completed by an approved engineer. To check if an appliance is affected, customers should locate the 16-digit serial number inside the door panel, then visit productsafety.haier.ie and enter the serial number. If the product is identified as affected, customers will be contacted to schedule the modification. If safely accessible, the appliance should be switched off and unplugged immediately pending inspection.
Hoover has been proactively reaching out to registered customers as part of this safety initiative. A company spokesperson stated, «Customer safety is our absolute priority. We are urging anyone with a built-in heat pump tumble dryer manufactured between 2019 and 2024 to check their appliance immediately using our online checker. If your model is affected, please stop using it and arrange your free modification. We apologise for any inconvenience and are working to complete the safety modifications as quickly as possible.»
