FSAI Recalls Good4U Super Sprouts Super Greens Over Salmonella Risk

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has recalled batches of Good4U Super Sprouts Super Greens due to possible salmonella contamination. Retailers must remove the product, and consumers are advised not to eat it. Salmonella can cause severe illness, especially in vulnerable populations.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has announced the recall of specific batches of Good4U Super Sprouts Super Greens due to the potential presence of salmonella.

Retailers have been instructed to remove the affected products from sale and to prominently display recall notices at all points of sale. Consumers are strongly advised against consuming the implicated batches.

The FSAI detailed the typical symptoms associated with salmonella infection, noting that individuals usually develop symptoms between 12 and 36 hours post-infection, though this timeframe can extend from 6 to 72 hours. The most prevalent symptom is diarrhea, which may occasionally be bloody. Additional symptoms can include fever, headache, and abdominal cramps.

While the illness generally resolves within 4 to 7 days, severe diarrhea may sometimes necessitate hospital admission. The FSAI emphasized that the elderly, infants, and individuals with compromised immune systems are particularly vulnerable to experiencing more severe forms of the illness.
