Zelenskyy: «Putin's Friends» Received Ukraine's Proposals for Meeting to End War
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine conveyed proposals to «Putin's friends» for a meeting to end the war. He stressed that Russia must take a step towards peace. This follows Lukashenka's statements about meeting Zelenskyy's representatives and his trip to Putin on June 26.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Ukrainian side conveyed proposals to «Putin's friends» regarding a potential meeting to discuss the end of the war in Ukraine.
In his evening address, Zelenskyy emphasized: «Russia must take this war with it from Ukraine – we do not need war. Ukraine has given proposals to key partners, and Putin's friends have heard from us that a meeting is possible and the end of this war is possible. Russia needs to take this step towards peace». He also noted that Ukrainian soldiers daily demonstrate their accuracy, and long-range and medium-range sanctions against Russia are being fully implemented. «These are our just responses to Russia for this war – a war that Russia started and that Russia must end», the President stressed.
Earlier, self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenka stated that he had met with representatives of Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Belarus. On June 26, Lukashenka traveled for another meeting with Putin in Russia.
