Met Éireann Extends High Temperature Warning to Saturday; Thunderstorm Alerts Issued

Met Éireann has extended a high temperature warning for the Republic of Ireland until Saturday, alongside issuing yellow thunderstorm warnings for multiple counties. On Thursday, Athenry, Co Galway, recorded the highest temperature at 32.1 degrees Celsius, with 11 stations reporting 30 degrees or more.

Met Éireann has extended a nationwide high temperature warning for the Republic of Ireland through Saturday. This comes as several yellow thunderstorm warnings have been issued for various counties.

Yellow thunderstorm warnings are effective from 9 AM to 6 PM today for counties Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Clare, Tipperary, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, and across all of Connacht. Additional warnings have been issued for tomorrow. In Northern Ireland, thunderstorm warnings are in effect until 10 AM for counties Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone, and Derry.

On Thursday, the highest temperature recorded in the Republic was 32.1 degrees Celsius in Athenry, Co Galway. Met Éireann reported that 11 stations nationwide registered temperatures of 30 degrees Celsius or higher.
