Musgrave Reports €133 Million Profit, €5.5 Billion Turnover in 2025 Amid Investment

Musgrave, the SuperValu and Centra owner, reported a €133 million profit and €5.5 billion turnover in 2025, driven by investments and acquisitions. CEO Noel Keeley and Chairman Nicky Hartery are stepping down, with new leadership taking over. The group plans further investments, including 500 new jobs for Centra.

Musgrave, owner of SuperValu and Centra franchises, reported a €133 million profit last year, with turnover increasing 5.4 per cent to €5.5 billion in 2025 from €5.2 billion in 2024. This growth was attributed to new store openings and acquisitions, including Delifresh in Britain.

Operating profit rose to €132.8 million in 2025 from €130.5 million. The group invested €40.2 million across its retail division, IT systems, and supply chains. Capital spending reached nearly €142 million, covering new store openings and existing outlet revamps. Pretax profit after investment was €92.7 million in 2025, down from €134.5 million the previous year.

CEO Noel Keeley will step down this year after 22 years, succeeded by Niall Anderton. Chairman Nicky Hartery is also departing after 10 years, with Róisín Brennan becoming interim chairwoman. Musgrave's total store turnover, including brands like Daybreak, Mace, and Dialprix, reached €6.8 billion last year. SuperValu sales hit €3.6 billion, and Centra sales were €2.6 billion. Centra announced a €27 million investment for this year, creating 500 new jobs.
