Ukraine to Receive €3.2 Billion First EU Loan Tranche on June 25-26 in Gdańsk

Ukraine will receive the first 3.2 billion euro tranche of an EU loan totaling 90 billion euros. This will occur on June 25-26 at the Reconstruction Conference in Gdańsk. A subsequent 5.9 billion euro tranche is expected by the end of June.

Ukraine is set to receive the first tranche of 3.2 billion euros from the European Union's total 90-billion-euro loan. This event will take place on June 25-26 during the Reconstruction Conference in Gdańsk, Poland. The information was confirmed by a correspondent for «European Pravda», citing anonymous European officials.

The decision to allocate the first tranche was made last week. According to a European official, the next tranche of 5.9 billion euros, intended to support the Ukrainian army, is also expected to be received by Ukraine by the end of June.

It is worth noting that Polish President Karol Nawrocki did not receive an invitation to the Ukraine Reconstruction Conference in Gdańsk. Previously, on June 19, Karol Nawrocki decided to strip Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of the Order of the White Eagle. This decision was linked to the naming of one of the Ukrainian units in honor of UPA heroes. Nawrocki also stated that Poland would not allow EU accession for those who do not understand the need to abandon the «cult of totalitarianism and violence».

Following this decision, a number of current and former Ukrainian officials announced they would return their Polish awards. The question also arose regarding Volodymyr Zelenskyy's participation in this year's Ukraine Reconstruction Conference. The President of Ukraine stated that the decision to revoke his Order of the White Eagle was related to internal political struggles in Poland and the incitement of anti-Ukrainian sentiment.
