On the night of April 22, Russian occupiers launched a massive attack on Ukraine, employing 215 uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs) of various types, including Shahed, «Gerbera», and «Italmas». According to preliminary data, approximately 140 of these were Shahed-type drones.
As of 8:00 AM, Ukraine's Air Defense Forces successfully shot down and suppressed 189 enemy UAVs in the north, south, and east of the country. However, hits from 24 strike drones were recorded at 13 locations, and debris fell at 6 locations.
The aerial assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and uncrewed systems units, as well as mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The attack is ongoing, with enemy UAVs still present in the airspace, as reported by the Air Force Command.
