Flogas to Increase Electricity by 10.9%, Gas by 11.8% from July 20
Flogas will raise residential electricity prices by 10.9% and gas prices by 11.8% for variable plan customers starting July 20. The company cites global energy market volatility and geopolitical tensions as reasons for the increases. This follows similar price hikes from other utility providers.
Flogas will increase residential electricity prices by 10.9%, or €4.11 per week, and residential gas prices by 11.8%, or €3.47 per week, for customers on standard variable price plans. These changes take effect from July 20.
Commercial Director Ken O'Byrne stated that the increases are necessary due to continued volatility in global energy markets, geopolitical tensions, and sustained market pressures. He noted that Flogas had absorbed costs as long as possible but can no longer delay the increases. The company will continue to offer customer supports like energy efficiency advice and flexible payment options.
This follows similar announcements from other providers. Electric Ireland raised residential electricity prices by 8% and gas prices by 7.7% from July 1. PrePayPower increased prices in early May, while Energia and SSE Airtricity raised theirs in late 2025.
