Netherlands to Allocate €500M for Drones and Air Defense: Zelenskyy's Gratitude
The Netherlands will provide Ukraine with a new military aid package of €500 million. The funds will be used for drone procurement and air defense financing, including via the PURL initiative. President Zelenskyy thanked them for the timely support after Russian attacks.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the Netherlands will provide a new military aid package totaling 500 million euros. These funds will be allocated for the procurement of unmanned aerial vehicles and the financing of an air defense program.
According to the head of state, 250 million euros will be directed to the PURL initiative, which helps protect Ukrainian skies. Another 250 million euros are designated for the purchase of drones for Ukraine's Defense Forces.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to the Netherlands for this defense package. He emphasized that following brutal Russian strikes on Ukraine, its cities, and its people, this support is very timely and a significant help.
Earlier, Reuters reported that the Dutch government on Wednesday pledged to acquire drones and air defense assets for Ukraine totaling 500 million euros. Half of these funds will be allocated through the PURL program.
