President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that G7 countries will help Ukraine get through the next winter if the war continues. He discussed an energy package, air defense, and fuel for winter, as well as obtaining a license for anti-ballistic missile production with Donald Trump.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Group of Seven (G7) countries will provide assistance to Ukraine to get through the upcoming winter if the war with Russia continues. The head of state announced this to journalists in an audio commentary on Tuesday, as reported by «European Pravda».
The President spoke about the key topics discussed during the G7 summit at the session dedicated to the Russian-Ukrainian war, which he joined. According to him, the meeting focused on an energy package ahead of winter. «We talked about the energy package, and here the President of France raised this issue. We all understand, and Ursula von der Leyen, and António Costa – additional funds are needed to physically secure our facilities. Air defense is needed, I said that. Diesel, gas, gasoline – what we need for winter, if the war does not end by then and there is a deficit. All partners will support us,» Zelenskyy emphasized.
He informed the partners in detail about the winter aid package Ukraine needs. «All countries said: they will support us. Both Japan, and Germany, and all other participants who were at the summit today,» the President noted. Separately, France stated its understanding of the danger of Russian drone attacks and its readiness to rebuild the damaged sarcophagus in Chornobyl.
Furthermore, Zelenskyy reported that during his conversation with US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the G7 summit, he discussed obtaining a license for the production of anti-ballistic systems and missiles. Zelenskyy shared photos of the meeting with Trump on social media.
