Poland Bans Ukrainian for 6 Years for Organizing Illegal Migrant Transport

Poland has banned a 27-year-old Ukrainian citizen from entering Poland and the Schengen Area for 6 years. The ban stems from his organization of illegal migrant transport across the Polish-Belarusian border. The man profited financially and posed a threat to public order.

Poland has banned a 27-year-old Ukrainian citizen from entering its territory and the entire Schengen Area for six years. The reason for this decision is his involvement in organizing the illegal transportation of migrants across the Polish-Belarusian border, as reported by Polsat News, citing the Polish Border Guard.

The Ukrainian national was initially detained on suspicion of organizing illegal migration. The investigation revealed that the man assisted migrants in crossing the Polish-Belarusian border and subsequently transported them deeper into the country. The Polish Border Guard stated that the Ukrainian citizen, fully aware of the illegality of his actions, received significant financial benefits from these activities.

His continued presence in Poland was deemed undesirable, as he posed a threat to the effective protection of security and public order. Pursuant to the decision of the Commander of the Border Guard in Biała Podlaska, the detainee was ordered to leave Poland. He was escorted to a border crossing and handed over to Ukrainian services. The operation was carried out by officers of the operational and investigative department of the Nadbużański Border Guard Unit under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in Lublin.

Polish border guards announced that the expelled Ukrainian citizen will not be able to return to Poland for six years, which also implies a ban on movement within the Schengen Area. It is worth noting that Poland erected a 5-meter fence with surveillance equipment on its border with Belarus to more effectively stop illegal migrants, with construction beginning in the summer of 2021. Additionally, the construction of a special barrier to reinforce the existing fence is underway. In April, Polish Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz declared full control over the situation at the border with Belarus.
