Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will participate in the European Council meeting on June 18-19 to discuss Ukrainian issues. This was stated in an invitation letter to EU leaders from European Council President António Costa. According to sources from «European Pravda», Zelenskyy's personal presence is expected in Brussels.
Costa noted that Ukraine is demonstrating successes on the battlefield, while Russia is not achieving its goals. He emphasized that «Russia's increasingly reckless and irresponsible behavior towards EU member states is unacceptable». The head of the European Council expressed confidence that the meeting will provide an opportunity to send a strong signal of unity.
António Costa also expects to welcome the opening of the first cluster in accession negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova, which is an important milestone on their path to the EU. Earlier, Zelenskyy received an invitation to the G7 summit on June 15-17 in Evian.
