Kaja Kallas announced on June 8 that the EU's «mini-package» of sanctions against Russia, to be approved on June 15, will target over 80 individuals and companies. These sanctions aim at Russia's military-industrial complex, human rights violators, and propagandists, causing significant economic damage to Moscow.
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas announced on June 8 in Cyprus that the EU's «mini-package» of sanctions against Russia, to be approved on June 15, will include over 80 names and companies.
These sanctions target Russia's military-industrial complex, human rights violators, and propagandists. Kallas stated that Western sanctions have already cost Moscow an estimated 1.2 to 1.5 trillion US dollars, undermining the foundations of Russia's war economy.
The mini-package of sanctions was first discussed by EU ambassadors on May 22. The European Commission confirmed the 21st package of sanctions is ready this week. Kallas also hinted at potential measures against Russia's «shadow fleet».
