JD Vance Blames «Mass Invasion of Migrants» for Henry Nowak's Murder, Downing Street Responds
US Vice President JD Vance blamed Henry Nowak's murder on «mass invasion of migrants,» drawing criticism from Downing Street for interfering and stirring division. Vance called for «righteous anger» over the 18-year-old's death. Downing Street urged respect for the grieving family's wishes against further division.
US Vice President JD Vance attributed the murder of 18-year-old student Henry Nowak to a «mass invasion of migrants,» sparking a rebuke from Downing Street. Vance stated Nowak «died the same way a civilization dies: abandoned, handcuffed by authorities who neither trusted nor cared for him, and accused of hate crimes he did not commit.» He called for «righteous anger» in response to the death, linking it to the failure of «European elites» to counter migration.
Downing Street criticized Vance's comments, stating, «We have seen people trying to interfere in our democracy and seeking to stir up division on our streets.» A spokesperson emphasized the Nowak family's wish that Henry's death not be used to create further division, hatred, or tension. The US State Department, led by Marco Rubio, also commented, linking «two-tier policing» to Nowak's death, a suggestion Downing Street rejected. Vickrum Digwa received a life sentence with a minimum of 21 years for stabbing Nowak with a ceremonial knife. The Independent Office for Police Conduct is investigating Hampshire Police's handling of the case.
