The aid, including drugs for injured soldiers and 19 mobile hospitals, is delivered directly to battlefield hospitals. Leahy will meet Governor Oleksandr Prokudin to discuss ongoing support.

Irish businessman Shane Leahy, CEO of Oxygen8 and former rugby player, is in Kherson, Ukraine, coordinating the delivery of medical supplies. Since the war began, Leahy has overseen the distribution of approximately €200 million in medical aid, largely donated by US pharmaceutical companies.

His charity, One4Humanity, co-founded with Norman Sheehan, partners with organizations like Heart to Heart International and Cemark staff in Ukraine. They ensure direct delivery to battlefield hospitals or the Ukrainian Ministry of Health. Supplies include drugs for soldiers with catastrophic injuries to prevent fatal bleeding, and 19 mobile hospital units made from shipping containers. These 20ft surgical theaters facilitate urgent procedures like limb reconstruction and amputations.

Leahy describes his role as establishing a business-like distribution network. Kherson, a dangerous city facing daily Russian shelling and drone attacks across the Dnipro river, is where Leahy will meet Governor Oleksandr Prokudin, who is expected to visit Dublin soon. One4Humanity also collaborates with the Garda and Ireland's National Rehabilitation Hospital to coordinate supplies and specialist medical personnel.
