Zelenskyy Synchronizes Sanctions with EU: 120 Individuals and Organizations from Russia, Belarus, UAE, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Sudan, Iran

President Zelenskyy synchronized Ukraine's sanctions with the EU's 20th package, targeting 120 individuals and organizations. The restrictions affect Russia, Belarus, UAE, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Sudan, Iran, and aim at key economic sectors, the military-industrial complex, and individuals involved in aggression and repression.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed decrees implementing the National Security and Defense Council's decisions to synchronize sanctions with the European Union. This 20th sanctions package covers 120 individuals and organizations, targeting key sectors of the Russian economy.

The decision affects 16 Russian citizens and 31 companies from Russia, Belarus, UAE, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and temporarily occupied Ukrainian territory. Among the individuals are leaders of Russian strategic enterprises, state institutions, army units, and entities serving Russia in occupied territories. The list includes Russian military-industrial complex enterprises, manufacturers of electronic warfare systems, software, drone components, and oil, gas, and gold mining companies, specifically LLC «Atlant Aero» and LLC «Irz-Zvyazok».

Sanctions were imposed on UAE companies selling machine tools, equipment, chemical products, and spare parts for commercial aircraft, as well as on an oil exporter in Belarus. Restrictive measures were applied to three Russians: prosecutor Lyudmyla Balandina, judge Dmytro Hordieiev, and editor Mariya Sittel, for repression, politically motivated decisions, and disinformation.

Sanctions also apply to 19 Iranian citizens, 7 Sudanese citizens, and 11 Iranian companies involved in ballistic missile and drone production programs. Presidential adviser Vladyslav Vlasiuk noted that Ukraine continues to synchronize sanction regimes with the EU and partners, expecting increased pressure on Russia and its accomplices, and is finalizing work on the 21st sanctions package.
