Masuma Sohrabi, 30s, Found Dead in Co Galway; Man Arrested

Masuma Sohrabi, in her 30s, was found dead with severe neck injuries at an IPAS centre in Clifden, Co Galway. A man in his 30s has been arrested. A post-mortem is underway to determine the cause of death and guide the ongoing investigation.

A post-mortem will be conducted on Masuma Sohrabi, a woman in her 30s found dead with severe neck injuries at Waterloo House, a hotel used as an IPAS centre on the outskirts of Clifden, Co Galway. Her body was transported to Galway University Hospital mortuary for examination, which will guide the investigation. A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned.

A man in his 30s, arrested under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984, is receiving medical treatment. Gardaí believe the suspect and Masuma knew each other and both used IPAS accommodation, though at different centres. Masuma worked at a local hotel and her children attended Scoil Mhuire in Clifden, which issued a tribute.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information from the Clifden area, particularly Galway Road, between 2pm Wednesday and 9am Thursday. They also request dash-cam or home security footage from that period.
