The European Commission plans to transfer €9.1 billion to Ukraine in June: €5.9 billion for defense and €3.2 billion for budget support. The exact date depends on condition fulfillment. The Verkhovna Rada approved agreements for €90 billion, but reforms are required.
The European Commission plans to transfer €9.1 billion in financial aid to Ukraine in June. Of this amount, €5.9 billion is allocated for defense needs, and €3.2 billion for budget support under the macro-financial assistance program.
European Commission spokesperson Balázs Ujvari stated that the exact transfer date is not yet determined due to the need to complete procedural and technical steps, as well as verify the conditions outlined in the Memorandum. According to «European Pravda», the first tranche of macro-financial assistance, amounting to €3.2 billion, is expected in mid-June.
On May 28, the Verkhovna Rada approved the draft law on the Loan Agreement and Memorandum of Understanding, which forms the basis for Ukraine to receive €90 billion from the EU. To receive part of the budget support, Ukraine must adopt important draft laws, particularly concerning the rule of law and anti-corruption, which are part of the «10 points of Kaczka-Kos» plan and include the Anti-Corruption Strategy.
