US officials confirmed shooting down four Iranian attack drones and hitting a ground control station in Bandar Abbas that was preparing to launch a fifth drone, describing these actions as defensive.

This escalation followed US President Donald Trump’s rejection of reports he was nearing a compromise deal with Tehran. Trump also threatened to «blow up» Oman if it failed to «behave,» amidst reports of Iran and Oman discussing tolls for ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Kuwait’s army confirmed intercepting missile and drone threats near Kuwait City around 6 am.

Meanwhile, in Lebanon, two people were killed in Tyre by an Israeli drone strike on Thursday morning. This occurred after Israel warned residents to move north and stated it would act «with great force» against Hezbollah, signaling further escalation despite a ceasefire. An Israeli soldier was killed and two injured in Northern Israel. Oil prices rebounded by 1.8% to $95.95 a barrel after falling 5% on Wednesday, following reports of increased hostilities. Iran’s internet was partly restored on Tuesday after an 88-day near-total blackout.
