18 Dart Stations Closed Dublin-Bray This June Bank Holiday Weekend
Eighteen Dart stations between Dublin Connolly and Bray will close from May 30th to June 1st for rail works, impacting travelers during major events. Irish Rail apologized for the disruption but noted alternative transport options and that this is the last closure until mid-September.
Eighteen Dart stations between Dublin Connolly and Bray will close from Saturday morning until Monday night, May 30th to June 1st, due to rail works. Services will operate only between Malahide, Howth, and Dublin Connolly.
This closure coincides with major Dublin events including Bord Bia Bloom, the Women’s Mini Marathon, and Forbidden Fruit. Social Democrats TD Jennifer Whitmore criticized Irish Rail for not considering the impact on these events, specifically mentioning the VHI Women’s Mini Marathon on Sunday, June 1st.
Irish Rail stated that avoiding coinciding events is not always possible, but noted the Mini Marathon has a dispersed travel pattern and other transport modes have capacity. They also confirmed this is the last weekend of Dart service disruptions until mid-September. Bus routes and Luas lines will remain operational, and Leap cards are valid on all TFI public transport services in affected areas. Bloom will offer a complimentary shuttle bus from Parkgate Street to Phoenix Park.
