Cairn Homes plans €372m, 715-unit Finglas scheme; 142 social homes for €73.9m
The scheme consists of 15 buildings, with one reaching nine storeys in height, at a cost of €372m.
Cairn Homes has lodged plans for a €372m, 715-unit residential scheme at Jamestown Business Park in Finglas, west Dublin. The Large-Scale Residential Development (LRD) comprises 15 buildings, one reaching nine storeys.
The developers have put an indicative price of €73.9 million on the sale of 142 units to Dublin City Council for social housing, averaging €520,894 per unit. A final price will be agreed after planning permission is granted. The application follows the adoption of the Jamestown Masterplan, aiming to provide 3,500 to 3,800 homes and a Finglas Luas stop due to open in 2028-2032.
The Jamestown LRD scheme, fronting McKee Avenue and Jamestown Road, includes 703 apartments (376 two-bed, 320 one-bed, seven three-bed) and 12 townhouses. The application also includes retail, community, cultural uses, a childcare facility, and public open space.
The development requires the demolition of four existing industrial structures. The application is made on behalf of Cairn Homes Properties Ltd, Finglas Regen Ltd, and Finglas McKee Property Developments Ltd. Architects O’Mahony Pike state the scheme will regenerate 3.75 hectares of industrial land into a mixed-use neighborhood. McGill Planning states the development aligns with the Jamestown Masterplan, integrating residential, commercial, and community uses.
