The incident took place after 3:00 PM in the village of Garbatka, Oborniki County, where a train on the Rogozno – Poznań route collided with a truck at a railway crossing. As a result of the collision, the truck caught fire, and the train derailed, as reported by the local fire service.
Several people were traveling on the train at the time of the accident. Eleven units of the State Fire Service and Volunteer Fire Brigades, along with emergency medical teams and Air Ambulance helicopters, arrived at the scene. Services focused on ensuring safety, extinguishing the fire, and providing assistance to the injured.
This incident is another in a series of similar occurrences. Earlier, in April, a passenger train derailed in southwestern Slovakia after colliding with a truck at a railway crossing, killing the truck driver.
