Up to 200 current and former staff of Stewarts Care, an Irish disability service provider, had their data exposed in a cyber attack on recruitment firm Healthdaq. Stewarts Care confirmed its systems are secure, while Healthdaq reported the incident to authorities, including the Garda National Cyber Crime Bureau.

Up to 200 current and former staff of Stewarts Care, a major Irish disability service provider, may have had their personal data exposed in a cyber attack on recruitment company Healthdaq. Stewarts Care was informed by Healthdaq in late March about a data breach, which was later deemed «serious» last month.

Healthdaq, operating across the island of Ireland, confirmed it was a victim of a cyber security incident and reported it to regulatory and law-enforcement authorities, including the Garda National Cyber Crime Bureau. The Data Protection Commission has also received a notification from Healthdaq and is engaging on the matter.

Stewarts Care, which employs about 1,350 personnel, used Healthdaq for recruitment services between May 2024 and March. The organization confirmed its own systems remain secure and the incident is confined to Healthdaq's environment. The HSE stated its systems were not affected, having no technical integrations or data flows with Healthdaq.
