Dublin Councillor Philip Sutcliffe Shares Antisemitic «Final Solution» Video, Claims Accidental Post

Dublin City Councillor Philip Sutcliffe shared and deleted an antisemitic video on WhatsApp calling for a «real final solution» against Jewish people. He claimed he accidentally shared it without reading. This follows a previous apology for sharing hate speech on a ballot paper, and his resignation from Independent Ireland over his association with Conor McGregor.

Dublin City Councillor Philip Sutcliffe, elected in 2024 for Ballyfermot–Drimnagh, posted and later deleted a 1-minute 16-second video on WhatsApp calling for a «real final solution» against «satanic» Jewish people. The video, which featured Adolf Hitler footage and an AI voice-over, contained antisemitic tropes blaming Jewish people for «degenerate Hollywood,» pornography, and «white replacement.» It also called Jewish people «satanic» and claimed Jesus referred to them as «the spawn of Satan.»

When contacted, Sutcliffe, an associate and coach of MMA fighter Conor McGregor, expressed confusion, stating he «probably just shared something on» without reading it and didn’t endorse the views. He claimed he didn’t remember posting it and would look into it. This incident follows a November apology for «accidentally sharing» an image of a spoiled presidential election ballot paper with hate speech, including calls to «Deport all Africans!» and «Deport All Indians!» and «Ban Same-Sex Adoption.»

Sutcliffe, a former Olympic boxer, resigned from Independent Ireland after the party disavowed his association with McGregor. He accompanied McGregor to the High Court in November for a civil action where McGregor was found liable for €248,603 in damages for rape, and also on a visit to Washington D.C. to meet Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth.
